The Asburys owned a farm in the Drexel area called Hollybrook Farm. Asbury also had a lake called Hollybrook Lake on his property which was a popular recreational spot in the 1920's. You could swim here for 25 cents an hour which included use of a suit and towel!
S. M. Asbury was involved in tanning and in fertilizer production during his lifetime. He also ran for the state legislature on the Democratic ticket. Mr. Asbury lived to the "ripe old age" of 94, when he died of stomach cancer.
