Arthur Vance Rogers, age 67, died at his home in Celina, Texas Saturday, 14 October 1944 after an illness of six months. Mr Rogers was born 7 Mar 1877, in Cold Springs, North Carolina. He married Miss Ellen O'Dell in June of 1905. Mr rogers is survived by his wife, Mrs ellen Rogers; three children, Mrs Carl Owens of Healton, Oklahoma; Mrs C H Miears of Austin, Texas and Mr Jessie Rogers of Celina; brothers and sister, Reginald rogers of Arling, Texas; Mrs Hattie Atkinson of Durrant, Oklahoma; Mrs Flora Brooks of Phoenix, Arizona and Mrs fannie Brooks; and six grandchildren. The funeral service werre held at 3:00pm Monday at the Celina Methodist Church. rev. Wallace Pittman, paster of the Methodist Church, conducted the service. The pallbearers were R G Martin, Raymond Huddleston, J F May, Fred Marks, Lee Laney, John Willock, W O Rolater and Charlie Smith. The Helms Funeral Home of Celina had charge of the funeral.
