Interment followed in Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Greene County with Rev. Harrell Moore and Rev. Larry Havard officiating the services.
A U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II, at mechanic at Ingalls Shipbuilding for 33 years and a member of Grace United Methodist Church, he died February 3. He was also a Shriner and a member of the R. P. Bowen Masonic Lodge in Lucedale.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lavonia Howard Hobby; daughters Chris (Jimmy) Williams and Tesi (Phil) Cornelson; sons Larry (Bea) Hobby and Mike (Ginny) Hobby; seventeen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and brothers Ivan Hobby and Joseph Hobby.
He was preceded in death by his parents Welch I. and Genvia Ball Hobby; and sisters Mary Alice Wood and Willie Rae Brown.
