Alice B Helzer, 79, of Longmont, died Saturday, July 15, at the Longmont United Hospital.
She was born July 30, 1896 in Fort Collins.
In 1917, she married LeRoy Gay. He is deceased. She then married Henry Helzer in 1943 in Fort Collins. He died in 1974.
She spent her early life in the Wheatland and Laramie, Wyo., on the family ranch. Later she moved to Loveland and then to Longmont in 1974.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Longmont.
Survivors are a son, Robert Gay of Phoenix, Ariz.; four stepsons, Willard Helzer of Eaton; Darwin Helzer of Fort Morgan, Russell Helzer of Greeley and Burdett Helzer of Greeley; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Lang of Longmont, Mrs. Mary Keating of Baytown, Texas, and Mrs. Opal Kistner of San Francisco, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Luella Kauffman of Gilcrest and Mrs. Ruth Seader of Broomfield; five sisters, Mrs. Mary Berglin of Berthoud, Mrs. Dorothy Luther of Pulaska, Iowa; Mrs. Rachel Steele of San Pedro, Calif., Mrs. Elsie Stotts of Longmont, and Mrs. Edna Heeren of Golden; 34 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. A daughter, Lois Ruth Gay is deceased.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Lewellen Funeral Chapel in Longmont. Interment will be in Linn Grove Cemetery, Greeley.
Friends may visit until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
