His age was 78 years, and 4 months. He was a good physician and highly respected citizen. A native of Germany where he graduated from the University of Tubingen and began practicing medicine in May, 1848. He came to this country fifty years ago and first pursued his profession in Phila. from there he moved to Fleetwood, but during the past 45 years he resided at Pricetown. He was married to Miss Louisa Bock, and they had six children, of which three survive: Mrs Jacob Schmidt and Mrs Penrose Mengel, Reading, and Mrs Lewis Cole, of Phila. His first wife died in 1858. He then married Miss Amelia Schmeck in 1866. They had nine children, there are five remaining: Laura, Maggie, Adolph, Pricetown; Mrs Agnes Printz, Reading;and Alfred of Calif.
