Cynthia Blanton, of Coleman, Texas passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at 12:45 p.m. at the Coleman County Medical Center. Services will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Coleman Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. John Stanislaw officiating. Interment will follow with services under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Coleman. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 7 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home.
"Cynthia was born November 13, 1904 in Bell County, Texas to the late John Larken and Dora Hamilton Cheshire. She was a lifetime resident of Coleman County and a member of the First Baptist Church of Coleman where she served 31 years in the Beginner Sunday School Department as a teacher and superintendent. On October 25, 1924 Cynthia married Harmon Blanton and they celebrated fifty one years of marriage. Harmon preceded her in death in 1975. Cynthia was a nurse's aide and homemaker.
"Survivors include a sister, Tincy Blanton, age 100 of Hamlin, Texas; 2 daughters, Willene Davis of Coleman, Texas, Juanita and husband Bob Driskill of Dallas, Texas; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; 1 nieces and 3 nephews."
