Muriel Marie (Rankin) Pucciarelli, 87, Marion, died at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2011 in Wabash County Hospital, Wabash, Indiana. She was born in Fleming County, Kentucky to the late Robert and Tensie (Emmons) Rankin and had been a resident of Grant County since 1941.
She was married to Anthony Pucciarelli from 1947 to 1989 and he preceded her in death.
Muriel was formerly employed at Farnsworth, the Shoe Factory and Foster Forbes. She was a member of the Mall Walkers, Grant County Senior Citizens Center, and the Tuesday Morning Sing-a-long. She enjoyed eating at Richards Restaurant in Hartford City. Muriel loved to write poetry and was published and invited to Washington, DC to read her poetry.
Survivors include her daughters, Vera (David) Braun, Marion, Connie J. Sproch, Kokomo; grandchildren, Anthony Joseph (Brooke) Braun, Fishers, Zachary Michael Braun, Fishers, Michael Charles Sproch, Kokomo; great-grandchildren, Beau Anthony Braun, Thomas David Braun; sister, Virginia Patrick, Richmond, Ky.
Muriel was preceded in death by sisters, Evelyn Emmons and Lelia Crain Ruby; brothers, Wilburn Rankin, Brooks Rankin, Elgin Rankin, Robert Rankin; son-in-law, Michael C. Sproch.
Funeral Service is at 11 a.m. Monday, February 7, 2011 in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, Indiana with Dr. Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial is in Grant Memorial Park, Marion, IN
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, February 7, 2011 in the funeral home prior to services.
