SILVERTON - Billy Joe Boling, 78, of Silverton passed away Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at Silverton Church of Christ with Kent Watson, minister, officiating. Interment will follow in Silverton Cemetery under the direction of Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Silverton.

Billy was born Feb. 18, 1932, to Amp and Marie Gregg Boling in Quitaque. He graduated from Kress High School in 1950. Billy married Della Gaither on Feb. 14, 1954, in Plainview and later moved to Silverton in 1957. He was a retired Briscoe County sheriff and enjoyed making Christmas candy, fishing and flying.

He was preceded in death by his wife of more than 55 years, Della Boling; his parents; and two brothers.

Billy is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie Weaks of Lubbock, Beverly and Rick Minyard of Silverton, Brenda and Doug McDonough of Plainview and Donna and Jim Estes of Silverton; 10 grandchildren, Jeff Weaks of Dallas, Misti Warren and her husband, Danny, of Lubbock, Dusti DeBock and her husband, Travis, of Lubbock, Ryan Minyard of Lubbock, Eric Minyard of Lubbock, Meredith McDonough of Plainview, Zachary McDonough of Plainview, Amanda Adamson and her husband, Aaron, of Roaring Springs, Kelsie McNeill and her husband, Jarred, of Lubbock and Braden Estes of Silverton; four great-grandchildren; and many friends and family.

Memorials may be made in Billy Joe Boling's name to the Silverton Church of Christ Building Fund, 202 Main St., Silverton, TX 79257; or to the charity of your choice.
