Wendell enjoyed serving his clients as a State Farm insurance agent for 37 years. He attended Clear Lake Church of Christ where he implemented Dave Ransey's Financial Peace University. He loved time spent with his friends and family, traveling, and golfing.
Wendell was preceded in death by his father, G. A. Hines; mother, Edith Creech Hines; brothers, Bill Hines and Charles Hines. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ida Sue; son, Chadwick and wife Alisa; daughter Wendy Smiley and husband Bob; daughter, Samantha Hines; grandchildren, Colter Smiley, Emily Hines, Trenton Smiley, Karmen Hines, and Zander Smiley. He is also survived by his sister, Frances Lobb-Forbis.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. From now on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing." 2 Timothy 4:7-8.
