Mrs. Rebecca Hodge was born in 1879 in Degognia Township and had lived in the Ava area all her life. Her siblings include Dave and Sam Easton, both of Ava and Oscar Easton of Murphysboro.
The former Rebecca Easton, she was married in 1897 to James Hodge, who survives.
Mrs. Hodge was a member of the Logan Hollow Pentecostal Church. She died at the age of 76 at her home in Ava following a brief illness.
