Mrs. Jones was born March 17, 1928, in Washington, D.C., and was a daughter of the late Ernest and Agnes Virginia Brown Winters.
She was a housewife. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 632 Ladies’ Auxiliary and the Eagles Club.
She moved to Harrisonburg in 1968 and returned to Maryland a year ago.
On March 7, 1959, she married Delbert O’Dell “Pete” Jones, who died April 27, 1991.
Surviving are three daughters, Elizabeth Ann “Beth” Jones and Virginia Hutchinson, both of Timberville, and Belinda Kite, of Harrisonburg; a stepdaughter, Carol Ann Jones, Mt. Clinton; two sons, Richard Lewis Hines, Maryland and William Ernest Hines, Luray; a step-son, Delbert O’Dell Jones, Jr., Mount Solon; a brother, William Winters, Leonardtown, Md.; a sister, Doris Ivy, Naples, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Fred LaSpina will conduct the funeral at 11 a.m. Friday at the Kyger & Trobaugh Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. Burial will be at the Beaver Creek Church Cemetery near Bridgewater.
