Benjamin C. Weaver, 82, of Hughes Road, Watsontown, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2008 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville where he had been a medical patient.

Born October 26, 1925 in Watsontown, he was the son of the late Chaucey B. and Hazel J. (Bartlow) Weaver. He and his wife, the former Irma K. Stahl, celebrated 59 years of marriage until her death January 6, 2006.

A carpenter, he enjoyed woodworking.

He was a veteran of the US Navy and a life member of the Muffly Huff Post 8206, VFW, Turbotville and the American Legion Post 323, Watsontown.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Alvin K. and Karen Weaver, Watsontown; five grandsons and a brother, Henry Weaver in Florida.

Preceding him in death besides his wife were his son, Barton Weaver in 1977 and two brothers: James and Floyd Weaver.

A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 AM at Delaware Run Cemetery, Watsontown with the Rev. Jill V. Seagle, pastor of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Watsontown officiating. Friends and family are invited to a time of refreshments and fellowship at the Watsontown American Legion, 1016 Main Street, Watsontown, immediately following the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his memory be made to assist with burial expenses and forwarded to Brooks Funeral Home, 124 Main Street, Watsontown, PA 17777.
