Velma Meadows, passed away Monday, January 31, 2011, at the Avon Health and Rehabilitation Center in Avon, Indiana. She had attained the age of 97 years, 7 months and 17 days. Born in McCreary County on June 24, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Samantha Cox Lovett.
She is also preceded in death by her husband Roscoe Meadows, and all her brothers and sisters; Columbus Lovett, Lewis Moore, Nancy Neal, Tennessee Barnhill, Hattie Meadows and Pearl Gryszowka. Surviving family include one son Fred Meadows and his wife Pam of Indianapolis, Indiana, grandson Robin Morris, and three great grandchildren, Brittany Renee, Skyler Shay and Amanda Nicole Morris. Ms. Meadows was a homemaker and of the Church of God faith. She enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, playing guitar, puzzles and spending time with her family.
Funeral services in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Harvey Logan officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Meadows Cemetery on Osbourn Creek(Also known as: Meadows Cemetery).
