Mrs. Caroline Blume, nee Werhane, wife of Henry Blume, Sr., of 124 S. Vail street, Arlington Heights, passed away at their residence February 5 at the age of 74 years, 9 months, 5 days.
Mrs. Blume was born April 30, 1863, in Northfield township and was baptized and confirmed in the St. John's Evangelical church at Northfield. On May 26, 1887, she was united in marriage to Mr. Henry Blume at Arlington Heights by Rev. Roeder of the St. Peter Ev. Lutheran church. This couple has always made their home in Wheeling township and for the last 13 years have lived in Arlington Heights.
Mrs. Blume leaves to mourn her departure, her loving husband, Mr. Henry Blume and eight children, three girls and five boys, Mr. Edward. Mrs. Clara Vogt, Mr. William Blume, Mrs. Amanda Miller, Mr. Fred Blume, Mr. Henry Blume, Jr., Mr. Herman Blume, Mrs. Alma Marschall; five daughters-in-law and three sons-in-law; 16 grandchildren and five great grand-children; one sister; Mrs. Mary Mentzer of Northbrook; one brother, Mr. William Werhane of Northfield; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.
Funeral services were Feb. 9th at 2 p.m. at St. Peter Ev. Luth. church, Rev. Knoack and Fricke officiating; funeral arrangements by Karstens; interment St. Peter cemetery.
