Mrs. Elizabeth Sargent Taylor, an old resident of the town of Forest, passed away Thursday, June 14, at the home of her son-in-law, Henry Grosser, at the age of 82 years, 7 months.
She was married to John Taylor, December 24, 1864, and to this union, five children were born. Her husband preceded her in death thirteen years ago. Three of her children survive her, namely, Mrs. Moore of Velva, ND., Mrs. H. Grosser of Forest and Fred Taylor of Dundas.
The funeral was held Saturday at 2 o'clock at the residence of H. Grosser. Interment was made in the Dundas Cemetery, Rev. Earl of Little Prairie officiating. Mrs. H.A. Illsley and Mrs. J.S. Hatfield sang several hymns while Mrs. R. Hoover presided at the piano.

Jun. 21, 1923 - Elizabeth Betsey Sargent was born Nov. 15, 1840 at Springfield, Ill. She was married to John A. Taylor Dec. 24, 1864, at Ellsworth, Wis. With her husband, she moved to Minnesota in October of the year 1879.
To this union, five children were born, three of whom
survive, namely, Mrs. D.M. Moore of Velva, ND., Mrs. Henry Grosser of the town of Forest and Fred Taylor of Dundas.
Seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Taylor was one of the very early pioneer settlers in the Fox Lake community and was practically the last survivor. When circumstances were vastly different from now, she entered into life's struggle with courage and fortitude. Her industry and ready sympathy made her a very helpful member of her community. When men were lacking, she did not hesitate to bind grain in the harvest field. When there was sickness at the neighbors, she often responded to the call for a nurse. Hers was an exemplification of a life of service and in promoting the religion of the Lord Jesus Christ, her part was an active one.
Her parents were patriots and Christians and her hong life was an example of early training in its unselfish service. Mrs. Taylor had, for many years, made her home on the old homestead with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Grosser, Mr. Taylor having preceded her in death many years ago. She had been in failing health for many months but was not confined to her bed until a few days before her death. The end came peacefully on Thursday afternoon, June 14, 1923, with all her children at her bedside.
Funeral services were conducted at the old home at 2 o'clock on Saturday afternoon, Rev. A.S. Earl of the Little Prairie Church having charge. The floral offerings were many and beautiful and the large number in attendance all attested to the esteem in which Grandma Taylor was held. She was laid to rest in the family lot in the cemetery at Dundas, pallbearers being R.L. Emery, Ed. Williams, R.R. Hoover, H.A. Illsley, F.A. Emery and B.L. Porter.
She is survived by two sisters and five brothers. Her youngest brother, Otis J. Sargent of Grand Forks, ND., arrived here to attend the funeral.
