Helen Lee RIDGEVILLE, SC - Helene Lee, 76, of Ridgeville, departed this life one day shy of her 77th birthday, on November 4, 2010, and immediately went to heaven where she was greeted by her grandson Matthew. Helen, or "Oma", as she was affectionately known by her friends and family, was born to Johannes and Natasha Bartschte, on November 5, 1933, in Beltzi, Romania. She immigrated to the United States at the age of 17, with the aid of the United Brethren Church, only speaking three words of English, hello and thank you. Three years later she graduated from Marshall High School, Marshall, Illinois. Oma was a woman full of joy and always busy. She was a lover of God and a member of First Church of God, Summerville. She loved being outdoors and spent many hours tending to her garden, flowers, and chickens on the OK farm. She was so loving and giving to those who were in need. She will be sorely missed by those she has left behind, her daughters, Rebecca "Becky" Estes, West Plains, Missouri, Renee; Ray, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Roberta Hill, Fayetteville, Arkansas, Rhonda Baughman, Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Roxann King, Summerville, South Carolina, seven surviving grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Our sudden loss is heaven's gain.
