Major Banks was one of the most prominent citizens of Stewart county, and was also well known in Columbus, where he has hosts of friends. He was a brother of Judge E. Sims Banks, Mrs. E. E. Yonge, and Mrs. J. G. Peacock, all of this city. He leaves four daughters and two sons.
The many friends of the afflicted family tender them their heartfelt sympathy in the hour of their sad affliction.
The remains will be brought to this city on the first boat, and will be laid to rest in the city cemetery.
