Mrs. Lyman Goff Fatally Injured By Chicago Auto

Mrs. Lyman Goff, 80 of Cottonwood, died at St. Anthony's hospital in Chicago at 5:30 o'clock Tuesday morning, after injuries received in an auto accident at 9 o'clock the previous evening in Elmhurst, where she had been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Harry Smith.

Mrs. Goff was crossing a street when she was struck by an automobile. She was taken to the hospital immediately, being injured internally and both legs were fractured. The body was sent to Fay's chapel in Fulton Tuesday evening.
She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bull, and was born on a farm north of Cottonwood, Ustick township, Whiteside county, Ill., Feb. 6, 1861, her parents having settled there in 1852. She was married to Lyman J. Goff, March 17, 1881, and they celebrated their golden wedding in 1931.

She is survived by four daughters and one son, Mrs. Effie Hunter and Mrs. Etta Smith of Morrison, Mrs. Mary Nichols of Billings. Mont., Mrs. Lena Smith of Elmhurst and Lloyd Goff of Chicago; 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She also leaves six half brothers, A.E. Bull, Dr. Ben Bull, Ezra Bull and Fred Bull, all of Morrison, Guy Bull of Wauwatosa, Wis., and George Bull of Oregon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, who passed away Dec. 28, 1931; several children in infancy; one sister Mrs. Nell Potter, and two brothers, Wilson Bull and Bion Bull.

Mrs. Goff was a member of the Bethesda Lutheran church of this city, the N.G. club, Fidelity Life Assn., and Cottonwood Community association. She attended the Cottonwood school and in her girlhood attended the Methodist church there. She leaves many friends who mourn her tragic and unexpected death.

Funeral services will be held at the Fay funeral home in Fulton at 2:00 o'clock Friday afternoon, with burial in the Cottonwood cemetery.
