Dora, the daughter of William Thomas and Florence Holden Brook was born in Chautuaqua, Kansas. She passed away in the Fairfax Memorial Hospital. She had been a resident of the Fairfax Nursing Home for some time. Funeral services were held in the Hunsaker Funeral Chapel in Fairfax, OK.
Dora married William Elmer (Red) Wood January 21, 1920 in Pawhuska, Osage Co., Oklahoma. To this union was born six children: Doris Lavern (stillborn), Roland Lamar, Florence Lorraine, Velma Francine, William Casey (died at about 4 months), and Donald Lee.
Dora and William Wood divorced and she remarried later in life to Dee Sawyers.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother. Survivors include Roland L. Wood, Pauls Valley, OK, Donald L. Wood, Bartlesville,Ok, Lorraine Jones, Fairfax,Ok and Velma London, Vinita, Ok; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and several other more distant relatives and friends.
