KOUTS, Nov. 28 -- Mrs. Laura Jackson Brown, 83, Kouts resident for 50 years, died at 4:20 a.m., today, in Porter Memorial hospital after an illness of a year and a half.
Born Jan. 24, 1870, in Montgomery county, Ind., she resided in Kouts 50 years, coming from Hebron. She was a member of the LaCrosse Methodist church, and the Rebekah lodge.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ella Cannon of Lafayette, four sons, Paul Jackson of Hobart, Gerald Jackson of East Gary, Harry Jackson of Chicago, and Henry Jackson of Elkhart; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A son preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Kosanke Brothers Funeral home, Kouts. The Rev. Aaron Egli will officiate, and burial will be in Graceland cemetery, Kouts. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 p.m., Sunday until services.
