Asa Butler, 82, Dies at Hampton Hospital, Funeral Today

Asa Butler, 82, a resident of this community for 50 years died Sunday night at the hospital in Hampton. Funeral services are to be held today, (Wednesday) at 2:00 p.m. at the Little Brown Church, Rev. Wm. Kent officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Butler who was born in New York City Feb. 12, 1854, came from there to Maquoketa, Iowa when a young man. He was married there. His wife died quite a number of years ago and a daughter, Mrs. Ella Davis, born to this union who had lived at Cedar Rapids and whom he had not heard from for a number of years was found to have died last September when efforts were made to locate her following his death.

In 1912 he was married to Mrs. Eliza Humphrey, who also preceded him in death. He is survived by a half-sister, Mrs. David Bean of Bradford and a step-sister, Mrs. J.M. Weston of Minneapolis and his step-children.

For the past two years Mr. Butler has lived at the Grant Barlow home in Bradford
