"Mrs. George Tefft, 93, died at the home of her son, Raymond A. Tefft, in Utica, July 31, 1947 after a short illness. The former Eliza Sarah Snedeker, she was born March 1, 1854, in Morris, daughter of James and Anna Coggshall Snedeker. She married Mr. Tefft May 7, 1879. He died in 1909 in Richfield Springs. She moved to Utica in 1922 and had resided with her son. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Richfield Springs. Surviving are her son; two daughters, Mrs. J. Coloton, Syracuse, and Mrs. Hugh Austin, Nichols, N. Y., 18 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A second son, Leo Tefft, died July 26 in Dayton, Ohio. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from the Keilbach Funeral Home. Burial was in the family plot in Lakeview Cemetery, Richfield Springs."
