"Mabel W. Slocum, 95, died Monday, June 28 after being taken to Bassett hospital. She was stricken at her summer home on Canadarago Lake. She was born May 12, 1881, at Warren, a daughter of Norman and Louisa (Edgett) Williamson. She married Louis W. Slocum of Coldboro on June 18, 1901. He died in 1951. She graduated from Richfield Springs high school in 1900. She was a member of the DAR in Richfield Springs and the First Presbyterian church of Whitesboro. Surviving are a son, Norman Slocum, East Douglas, Mass.; a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Myers, Whitesboro, and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, at the McGrath Funeral Home, Richfield Springs, with the Rev. Gerald Boyer, pastor of the Church of Christ Uniting, officiating.
