Timothy William Jennings, 66, of Paint Creek, passed away Saturday, January 29th at Baylor Medical in Dallas after a lengthy illness. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 31st at Haskell Church of Christ with Gene Linder and Sam Wester officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at Aspermont Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Tim was born January 27, 1945 in Olney, Texas to T.W. and Juanita (Martin) Jennings. He was raised on the Marcel Ranch in Throckmorton County, Hunt Ranch in Baylor County and the Flowers Ranch in Stonewall County. He graduated from Old Glory High School in1963. He married his lifetime sweetheart, Donnice Sawyers, on May 22, 1965 in Aspermont. He worked for the Triangle Ranch and J.K. Ray Construction after high school. In 1966, he joined Shell Oil Co. as a seismic operator and worked in Texas, Utah, New Mexico and Michigan. He returned his family to Texas in 1974 where he farmed and ranched north of Old Glory and later went to work as foreman of the Flowers Ranch. In 1985, he moved his family to Paint Creek, where he worked for Ray Perry Farms. The last 20 years he was general manager of the Paint Creek Water Supply Corp.
He served on the school boards of both Old Glory and Paint Creek I.S.D.
He was a member of the Church of Christ. He loved the Lord and his church. He was proud of his family, and delighted in his seven grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband, devoted father, good friend and a man of hard work, honesty and integrity. He loved to joke and tease and have a good laugh. He made everywhere he went better.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Donnice of Paint Creek; children Leslie Brack and husband Burke of Midland; Thad and wife Mendy of Waco and Matt and wife Lorri of Ovalo; grandchildren Mitchell, Connor and Peyton Brack and Alleigh, Will, Seth and Emma Jennings; step grandsons Trevor, Tyler and Trey Harmon; brother Ted Jennings and wife, Mary of Haskell; brother in law, Derrell Sawyers and wife Mary of Hamlin; Nephews Todd Jennings and Michael Sawyers; niece Jill Hall; and a lifetime of friends.
