MRS. NITA CALDWELL
Mrs. Nita H. Caldwell, 75, of U. S. 41 North, Calhoun died Friday evening, May 15, 1998 at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, following several weeks of declining health.
She was born in Gordon County on Jan. 22, 1923, daughter of the late Wilburn Lamar and Aurie G. Kendrick Holcomb. She was a lifelong resident of Calhoun, a retired homemaker, and a member of Calhoun First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Lew and Shela Caldwell; a brother, Billy Holcomb of Calhoun; a sister-in-law, Joann Holcomb of Calhoun; two grandchildren, Allie and Tyler Caldwell; and a brother-in-law and his wife, Calvin and Louise Caldwell of Calhoun.
Funeral was Monday, May 18 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Bert Vaughn and the Rev. Michael Yancy officiating. Interment was in Fain Cemetery. Lonnie Daniel was in charge of music. Pallbearers were Darwin McIntyre, Jerry Thomas, Michael Yancy, Jimmy Banks, Dwayne Elders, and Norman Hollingsworth.
Thomas Funeral Home of Calhoun was in charge of arrangements.
