Laura C. Abbott was born in Trimble Co., KY in 1889 and came to Pierre in the summer of 1914 and taught a term of school in the schoolhouse near Rigg's place and the next year she taught a term near Kirley. The 20th of July shw was married to Lauritz Olson at Rapid City by Rev. Jensen. Four children were born to them. Laura died from cancer of the liver the 17th of Feb. 1933 and was buried at Riverside Cemetery, Pierre, SD.
