HENRY FIENE

Mr. Henry Fiene, a well known and prosperous farmer of this village, was taken seriously ill while attending church services Sunday morning, Oct. 18. He was hurriedly removed to his home and the family physician called, who did everything possible to relieve the sufferer but to no avail. Mr. Fiene died shortly after one o'clock the same day. The funeral took place Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 12 o'clock from the family residence on the old John Carson farm on West Campbell street, thence to St. Peter's Lutheran church, where a large gathering of sympathizing friends and neighbors had gathered to hear the funeral sermon delivered delivered by Rev. Chas. Noack. The Herald extends its sympathy to the sorrowing widow and children.

Henry Fiene was born July 9, 1858, in Addison where he attended school and was confirmed by Rev. Franke in 1873. He married Miss Caroline Gehrke Feb. 21, 1888, and the same year they moved to Arlington Heights on the farm which he bought and has since occupied. To them were born two boys and two girls. He died of acute indigestion Oct. 18, 1914, aged 56 years, 3 mos., 9 days. He leaves his sorowing [sic] wife, two sons, Martin and Walter, two daughters, Ellen and Anna, one sister, two brothers and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his early departure.
