Eugene died at the home of his granddaughter Mrs. Harry Williams after an illness of several weeks. After marriage to Ellen Thatcher they lived in Plainfield and South Deerfield, came to Ashfield in 1922. He was employed at Harmon's Wood-working mill, after eight years moved to Spruce Corner to live with daughter Mrs. Walter Dyer. Since Ellen died in 1932 he lived with his granddaughter. Survivors are two daughters Mrs. Mary Hauschild and Mrs. Carrie McCoy of Springfield, 15 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
