J. Porter Campbell, was born in Lenoir City and was a grocer here for a number of years before and immediately after serving in the Pacific with the Army during W. W. II. He lived on East Second Avenue in Lenoir City and retired from Security Mills after 35 years. Porter was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Past Master of Avery Lodge #592 F & AM, member of Rotary Club and Civitan Club. His joy was his family and he had many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Ezra and Annie Campbell. He leaves his wife of 60 years, Mary Ellen; daughter, Ann Campbell and granddaughter, Stephanie; son, Jim Campbell and daughter-in-law, Robin; and sister, Mary Annie Campbell.
