NAMPA — Graveside services for Earl Mangum, 85, of 135 1st St. N. Extension, Nampa, who died Saturday at a Nampa hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens by Bishop Gary Hess, Nampa 1st Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The cortege will leave Alsip Funeral Chapel at 1:45 p.m.
He was born June 5, 1893, at Tropic, Utah, to John Arnold Mangum and Mary Ellen Crow. He married Lucy Elizabeth Smith June 7, 1913, at Idaho Falls, and they moved to Nampa in 1932. She died Sept. 10, 1967. He married Gertrude Humphreys in March 1968. He was a farmer, painter and worked for the Nampa Irrigation District until retiring.
He was a member of the Nampa 1st Ward LDS Church.
Surviving are his wife of Nampa; three daughters, Ruby Frickey of Nampa, Dorothy Jarrett of Kuna and Ruth Maupin of Oreana; a son, John La Roy of Emmett; two stepsons, Richard Humphreys of Nampa and Robert Humphreys of Portland; two stepdaughters, Ida Parker of Nampa and Beverly Beautoin of Portland; a sister, Adelia Cousins of Idaho Falls; 20 grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by two sons and several brothers and sisters.
