CALDWELL — Amy Alicia Hill, 92, of Caldwell, died Thursday, May 19, 1988, in a Boise nursing home of natural causes.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 23, at the Caldwell Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3015 S. Kimball Ave., Caldwell. Bishop Galan Rogers of the Caldwell Fourth Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell. Arrangements are under direction of the Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
Mrs. Hill was born Dec. 30, 1895, at Grover, Utah, a daughter of Daniel and Georgina Hanks Allen. She grew up in Utah, California and Idaho. She married George Hillman on June 7, 1914, at Cascade, Idaho, where they made their home until Mr. Hillman's death in February of 1920. She and her two daughters then moved to Caldwell. She married Wayne Hill on June 14, 1927, at Caldwell. She and her husband ran the I.O.N. service station and grocery store, also the A & B market and restaurant. Mrs. Hill was manager of the Caldwell liquor store until her retirement in 1966.
She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was secretary and home teacher in the Relief Society for several years. She was president of the American Legion Auxiliary; member of the Caldwell chapter of Order of Eastern Star; and was registrar in her district for several years.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Thelma and Andrew Sanderson of Boise, and Gertrude and Robert Biggs of Belmont, Calif.; a son and daughter-in-law, Boyd E. and Marguerite Hill of Union City, Calif.; a sister, Nettie Timpke of Yakima, Wash.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Wayne, died in 1954. A son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Claudia Hill, died in 1979. Four brothers and a sister also died earlier.
Friends may call today from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Dakan Funeral Chapel in Caldwell, and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services in the Relief Society room of the church.
