He passed away when Sam was a toddler because he was an old man. That was very difficult to find his birthdate. I understood that his records was in the burned of the building at Echols county during the war time. I knew his burial is in Statenville, Ga. As my father mentioned that most of the tombwoods made in 1900's washed away by the river flood nearby. All I see his name came up in his marriage record to Eliza Thornton Altman. What more I can see is history census that his parents is George W. Simpson, and Nancy (?).. He had a brother named James Marion. He also had other two sons, John M., and Willie F. with Susan(Susen, Susannah,...) Flowers Simpson by 1st marriage; then had other two sons, Sam, and Lawson by 2nd marriage. I don't know in between of long years where he was at, but as I see that he did lived with James Marion as a widower after Susan. I see other record of Susan that she did lived as widower. eh? I try to figure out.. Hope someone knew his family history, will find here, and contact me, or help.... Smile..
