Nina Virginia Bailey, 93, of Spring Hill, KS, passed away January 28, 2011 at Golden Living Center, Spring Hill. Visitation will be 11:00 am Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Bruce Funeral Home, Spring Hill, (913) 592-2244. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Antioch Cemetery, Spring Hill. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association . Condolences may be sent to www.brucefuneralhome.com Nina Virginia Lyons was born March 30, 1917 in Kansas City, MO to Stella (Thomas) and Lyman Lyons. She graduated from Westport High School in KC, MO and then attended a small business college where she met her future husband. Nina married C. Merlin Bailey on May 11, 1940 in KC, MO. They lived nineteen years in Arizona, moving to Olathe, then Spring Hill. Nina was an avid artist and member of the National League of American Pen Women. She had a passion for calligraphy as well as oil and acrylic painting. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 69 years, C. Merlin Bailey. Nina is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Ron and Kathy Bailey of Spring Hill, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
