She was born Feb. 4, 1954 in Wythe County, daughter of the late Willie and Olivia Peachie Horton Ogle, and was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Nester.
She was a member of Glenwood United Methodist Church.
Nina was a loving, caring wife and mother.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry W. Scott of the home; her son, Travis Willard Newman of Nashville, Tenn.; foster sister, Patty Patterson and Mike of Barren Springs; father of Travis, Willard Newman of Woodlawn; step-children, Robert Lewis Scott and wife, Beverly, of Hampstead, N.C., Amy Jo Ridpath and husband, Kent, of Pulaski; three grandchildren, Justin, Jared and Bethany; brother-in-law, Malcolm "Bunk" Nester of Barren Springs; and mother-in-law, Ina Mae Scott of Blacksburg.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011 at 8 p.m. at Glenwood United Methodist Church with Pastor April Milligan officiating. Entombment will be held Wednesday at noon at Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. until service time at the church.
