Served in the Confederate Army during the War Between The States, 1861 thru 1865.Was a color bearer for the 47th NC State Troops Co.A. Fought at Bristoe Station,Hatchers Run,Gettysburg,Wilderness.Promoted to Ensign Nov.28,1864.
Died in the Old Soldiers home in Raleigh, N.C.and was buried at Oakwood Cemetery in the Confederate Soldiers Section August 28, 1916.
