He married 22 Dec 1864, Livonia, NY Sarah Jane WILLIAMS. She was b. 4 Oct 1839 in Livonia, NY and d. 5 Feb 1912 in Claremont, CA. They lived in Livonia until 1866 when they moved to Illinois Grove, Iowa. (Family Records - Potvin). In the fall of 1880, George E. Clark Sr. with some Iowa neighbors, came to Antelope County Nebraska looking for homesteads. He wanted more land for his boys as they grew to manhood. On April 13, 1881, he, with his two young sons, Lewis, age 14, and George Jr, age 12 left State Center, Iowa in two emigrant railroad cars. One car held their cattle and the other the horses, machinery, household goods and the adventurous 44-year-old man and his two young sons. They had to remain there for a while because the railroad tracks were washed out near Oakdale. They drove the cattle on to Elgin arriving there on May 1, 1881. The Clarks constructed a three bedroom sod house with three foot thick walls on the homestead ten miles west of Elgin. They also acquired a timber claim of 160 acres. A well was made on the property line east of the house and shared with their neighbor, Hiram Kinney. In 1910, they moved to California. George was living in Claremont, CA when his mother died in 1913. He moved back to Nebraska in 1917 because he wanted to die there, which he did later that year. George died while visiting his sons George Jr and Edwin. He is buried at Park Center Cemetery next to daughter Florence. Sarah Jane died 5 Feb 1912 in Los Angeles Co, CA.
