Jerome George Auer, 90, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2007 after a long illness. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at 11A.M. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Holland officiating.

Mr. Auer was born on March 31, 1917 to the late George M. and Margaret Dinkel Auer. He is preceded in death by a son, Thomas Jerome Auer, brother, George Auer and sister, Katherine Auer.

Mr. Auer was a graduate of Robert Morris Business College and studied at Dartmouth College and University of Pittsburgh. Mr. Auer served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II, serving from September 1941 to 1946. He was a Master Sergeant from 1942 to February 1946 and worked in the Finance Department at Southeast Air Force Training Command at Maxwell Field in Montgomery, AL. He was
past Chairman of Booth Memorial Hospital Advisory Board, Salvation Army Advisory Board in Pittsburgh, Past Chairman Board of Trustees at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, and past president of Pittsburgh Chapter of The Bank Administration
Institute. Mr. Auer worked for Dollar Saving Bank from May 1936 until 1972 retiring as Treasurer. He retired as a Vice President of Mortgage with Union National Bank in Pittsburgh, having worked from 1972-1982. Mr. Auer has been
retired in Macon since 1983. He is a member of Vineville Baptist Church and the XYZ Club and a member of North Macon Park Senior Citizens.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Sarah Roberts Auer of Macon; son, Timothy Richard (Dyanne) Auer of Santa Fe, New Mexico; niece, Karen Auer of Pittsburgh, PA.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Flowers accepted or donations made to Vineville Baptist Church, 2591 Vineville Avenue, Macon, GA 31201.
