Alan J. Agen, 68, of Cumberland died Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at St Joseph Hospital in Marshfield, WI. He was born January 6, 1943 in Milwaukee, WI to Arnie and Helen (Hahs) Agen. Al's family moved to Cumberland and he attended Collingwood School. He graduated from Cumberland High School in 1961. Al completed the farm short course at UW-Madison and worked for a short time on his family's farm. He was married in First Lutheran Church, Cumberland, WI on July 1, 1967 to Cindy Lang. Al attended UW-Stevens Point and UW-Eau Claire and received his BS Degree in Social Studies in 1970. They moved back to Cumberland in 1972 and Al farmed with his father for 20 years on the family farm. He received his Driver's Education Certificate in . In 1990, Al earned his MS from UW-Stout in Guidance & Counseling. Al has been a substitute teacher since the 1970's and began teaching Driver's Education in 1992 at CHS and CESA.

Al enjoyed Packer football, the Badgers, golfing, bowling, watching his kids and grandkids sporting events, deer and turkey hunting. He was active in his community, volunteering at

Al is survived by his wife, Cindy of Cumberland; 2 daughters, Brenda (Scott) Kupferschmidt of Cumberland and Barb Agen of Cumberland; 2 sons, Brian (Kris) Agen of East Troy, WI and Brad (Kelly) Agen of Green Bay, WI; 10 grandchildren, Trae, Alex, Sam, Tess, Hannah, Emma, MaKenna, Ben, Macy and Maddy; 2 brothers, John (Connie) Agen of Gilman and Roger Agen of San Francisco, CA; his aunt, Ora Hahs of Cumberland and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Augustana Lutheran Church, Cumberland, WI with Rev. Karen Hofstad officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery. Pallbearers are Fred "Butch" Sutherland, Jr., Carroll Schell, Tom Bents, Greg Conway, Rich Rydberg and Terry Manke. Honorary pallbearer is John Schwanke. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Friday at the Skinner Funeral Home, Cumberland and one hour prior to service on Saturday at the church.
