The Blue Earth Post, Nov. 20, 1906, page 5, reported: Jens Larson, an unfortunate victim of the liquor habit, died at the county jail Thursday afternoon. The poor fellow was sent here from Bricelyn some three weeks ago under a fifteen days' sentence for intoxication and a few days previous to the completion of that time became ill and while the best of medical attention was given him his physical condition was so depleted that nothing could be done for him. He was about 35 years of age. The Faribault County Register, Nov. 22, 1906, page 3, reported: John Larson, who was brought from Bricelyn to the county jail recently, for disorderly conduct and drunkenness, died there last Thursday, Nov. 15. The remains were taken back to Bricelyn for burial. The deceased was born and brought up in the town of Seely. The Bricelyn Sentinel, Nov. 23, 1906, page 1, reported: Jens Larson a stepson of Iver Odden died at the county jail Thursday afternoon. He was sent there to serve a fifteen days sentence for intoxication. A few days previous to the completion of his sentence he became ill and died as stated above. He was 40 years of age was married and had six children, who are now being cared for at the state orphan school. His wife having preceded him in death some years ago. His body arrived at Bricelyn last Friday evening and the funeral occurring Saturday with Rev. Sondressen officiated. The remains were laid to rest in the cemetery 1 mile west of Bricelyn.
