Malinda, the remaining child of Ake E. Rowden, was born October 31, 1843, and died January 8,1879. She was married to James H. Cansler, who was born here February 8, 1843, and died at Rolla April 13, 1885. He operated a store at Vienna a number of years, was Sheriff and Collector of the county at the time the two offices were united, and was the first candidate raised after the organization of the Masonic Lodge in Vienna. They were the parents of three children, all living: George E. Cansler lives at Vienna where he is cashier of the Maries County Bank, after having served twenty years as County Treasurer; Allie, widow of Dr. H. J. von Gremp, lives in St. Louis, and Gussie, wife of Charles L. Crane, in California.
