Lucy Fitzhugh Hooe.
Born July 29 1812, at Mont Chen, the home of her parents, Geo. Nicholas & Ann Eilbeck Grymes who as A. E. Mason of Gunston in Fairfax; Married 29th March 1838 in St. Paul's Church, by the Rev. Chas. Goodrich, and died 21st April 1852 at Barnesfield, our home, all in King George County, Virginia.

She died as she had lived firm in the faith of the everlasting Gospel. Her last words of comfort "Nevermind, my husband, it is the Lords will."

Her dying testimony, "I am not afraid to die; I have not a single fear." Her praise no words of man can tell; tis inspiration only can.

"Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her."
"Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all."
"Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised."
"Give her of the fruit of her hands and let her own works praise her in the gates." Prov. 31: 28-31.

Erected by her devoted husband Dr. Abram Barnes Hooe, as a tribute of affection to her memory and her worth Novr. 2d. A.D. 1852.
