In 1850 he lived with his wife and their four children on a farm in Pike Township, Coshocton County, OH.

In 1860 he and Martha and their five children lived there. He owned real property worth $4800 and personal property valued at $1200.

In 1870 he and his wife and their four youngest children lived there. He owned real property worth $8000 and personal property valued at $930.

In 1880 he and Martha and two of their children--Daniel and Sarah--lived there.

Daniel McKee died of paralysis at his residence, about noon Friday Dec 11, 1891 and was buried at Frazeysburg the following Sunday. The pall bearers were Wm. Anderson, J.W. Crawford, Martin Huffman, Michael Wolford, Daniel Cochran and Isaac Russel. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Moats of the M.E. Church at Frazeysburg. He was born July 28, 1822. He married Miss Jane Fairall daughter of Wm. Fairall deceased, being the sister of the well known Abner Fairall, in the year 1844. and began housekeeping on the farm now owned by his brother, Wm. McKee. They had seven children born unto them, four boys and two girls survive him. He joined the M. P. Church at Broomstick about thirty-five years ago and has been a member in good standing ever since. He was a success at his calling, gave his children a good start in life and had the pleasure of seeing them the owners of good homes long before his death. He had left a good farm and money at interest with which to pass the evening of life. About seven years ago he was stricken with paralysis affecting one side but being able to go around. Nearly two years ago he had a second stroke rendering him helpless. All this time he has been tenderly cared for by his faithful wife. Mr. McKee comes of good stock, his father, Patrick, and his uncle Thomas, James, and Gilbert McKee, were among the foremost men in the community. His mother's maiden name was Elizabeth Ashcraft, daughter of the pioneer Danial Ashcraft, he being the first settler in this, Pike Township, Coshocton Co. settling here in 1808 and whose descendants proved to be the foremost of any in this part of the county, in getting together and making a good use of the sinews of war.
