Daily Democrat, Clinton MO, Mar 15 2006 - Richard Paul Wilson was born July 4, 1929, in Calhoun, the son of James Paul and Virgie Dean (Moreland) Wilson. He went to be with the Lord on February 18, 2006, at his home in Clinton at the age of 76 years. Richard served his country in the Korean Conflict for a total of 22 years in both the Army and Air Force Reserve. On June 7, 1952, he was united in marriage to Marie Cornell in Harrison, Arkansas, and to the union four children were born, Rick, Linda, Fred and Donnie. Richard was a respected business man, having been involved in the Ready Mix business as an employee and owner since his return from the Korean Conflict. Richard and Marie lived on the farm where they raised cattle, mules and dogs until two years ago, due to health, they moved to Clinton. Many memorable hours were spent with family and friends on the farm, working with the cattle, riding the mules and going coon hunting with the prized coon dogs. Richard served on the Calhoun School Board for nine years and as a baseball coach for a number of years. He always enjoyed attending his children and grandchildren's ball games. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, Clinton, where he served as a deacon and was the Sunday School secretary for a number of years. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 14, Clinton. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son Fred Wilson. He is survived by his wife Marie of the home; two sons Richard P. Wilson Jr. and wife Jeanne, and Donald J.
