In 1880 he and his parents, his seven siblings, plus Sylvester's wife and their son, lived on a farm in Pike Township, Coshocton County, OH.

In 1900 he and his parents and his youngest sister lived there.

In 1910 he and his wife and their two children lived on a farm they owned, mortgage free, in the same township.

In 1920 he and his second wife, his five children, and his mother lived there on the farm on Ashcraft Ridge Road.

In 1930 he and Olevia and his three youngest children lived in a house they owned on Mount Vernon Road in Newark, OH. They did not have a radio. He worked as the proprietor of a canning factory. Ethel worked as a saleslady at a confectionery.

In 1940 he and his wife and her brother Egbert lived in a house they owned at 44 Parker Avenue in Newark. Their home was valued at $2175. He worked as a truck driver with his own truck.
