Lydia M. Crisp, 75, a resident of Jacksonville went home to be with her Lord on January 23, 2011. Mrs. Crisp was a member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville and was a teacher in the Children's Church pre school for over 30 years. She retired from Bell South with over 26 years of service in 1989. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed reading and music. Her grand son, Hunter Thigpen preceded her in death in 1998. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Dr. Thomas Dewey "Tom" Crisp, her daughters, Cheryl Crisp, Beth Willoughby (Frank) and Valerie Thigpen (Robin), brothers, Howard Smith (Melva) and Jim Smith (Donna), sisters, Hazel Ammons and Pat Posey and her grandchildren, Josh and Jacob Willoughby and Victoria and Caroline Thigpen, and numerous friends. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 12:00 noon with Dr. Allen McKeithan and Dr. Tom Crisp officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Jacksonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church Pre School Building Fund, 124 West Ashley Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32202. Fraser Funeral Home, 8168 Normandy Boulevard, is in charge of arrangements.
