Franklin Dee Cochran, 77, of Bishop Road, Cartersville, died Sunday, January 23, 2011.
Mr. Cochran was born December 29, 1933 in Cherokee County, a son of the late Charlie Cochran and Malissa Abernathy Cochran.
He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Bartow Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a retired Insurance agent. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was a kind and loving person.
He leaves behind to mourn him his wife, Jean Bishop Cochran, two daughters, Sandra Dee Smith, of Cobb County and Elaine Richards, of Cartersville, five grandsons, Zachary and Austin Richards, Aaron, Adam and Ardon Smith, two step grandchildren, Christopher Richards and Tiffany Goodner, sisters and spouses, Betty and Max Gray, of White, Elsie and Earl Mansfield, of Cartersville, Opal Sutton, of Adairsville, and a brother in law, Alvin Richards, of White, sister and brother in law, Pat and Tom Bishop, Robert and Faye Sewell, Shirley and Ronald Kennedy, former son in laws, Andy Neel, Keith Smith and Dane Richards, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 28, 2011 from the Chapel of the Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Harris and Rev. Mark Rackley officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill cemetery, with military rites observed.
Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 till 8:00 P.M. Thursday.
