Theodocia Dora Agee Leake was one of 12 children born to John and Mary Elizabeth Thornton Agee: Leetia (died young), Otto, Lucretia, Theodosia, John, Zopher, Emma, Owen, Ray, Roy, Kathyrn, and Bertha. In 1868, John and Mary moved their family to Wilbur, Douglas Co., Oregon, where John was a farmer. The Thorntons and the Agee families have well documented genealogy in Oregon and Missouri. Both families orginally immigrated to an area called Gopher Valley near Sheridan, Yamhill County, Oregon.
