Wayne Eugene Cannon, 85, passed away Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 1 p.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Wayne was born Dec. 31, 1925, in Muskogee, Okla., to Lee and Mabel Cannon. He retired from General Dynamics Lockheed in 1988, after 37 years of service. Wayne married Helen W. Cummins on Dec. 27, 1946, in Muskogee, Okla. They moved to Fort Worth in 1957. Wayne served in the Army during World War II in Germany. He received the Purple Heart award in 1946 for wounds he received in combat. Wayne was a longtime member of Edgepark United Methodist Church and an inactive member of Masons. Survivors: Sons, Jim Cannon and wife, Norma, of Crowley, Bob Cannon and wife, Betty, of Lowell, Ind., and Cris Cannon of Fort Worth; sister, Eulide Fisher and husband, Raymond, of Broken Arrow, Okla.; grandchildren, Kimberly Cannon, Melissa Roach and husband, Allen, Christopher Cannon and wife, Cherrie, Shea Cannon, Candice Oster and husband, Daniel, Ashley Taylor and husband, Adam, and Melissa Cummins and husband, Jeff; and great-grandchildren, Patrick Taylor, Courtney Taylor, Hannah Roach, Cole Roach, Isabell Taylor, Ethan Taylor, Mackenzie Taylor, Chase Cannon, Jera Cannon, Emma Oster, Heath Oster, Jeffery Cummins, Brooke Cummins and Jacob Cummins.
