OBITUARY
The Rochester Sentinel

Monday, January 9, 1956

Mrs. Eliza BOWMAN, 91, died at 9:15 p.m. EST, Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry SMITH, two miles north of Akron. She had been seriously ill for the past week. All her life had been spent in Fulton county.

She was born April 11, 1864, in Henry township to Henry and Lavina (YOUNG) LANDIS. In March, 1882, she was married to David UTTER, who died in 1933. Her second marriage was to Ed BOWMAN in Octover, 1938. Mr. Bowman preceded her in death in 1943. Mrs. Bowman attended the Akron Church of God.

The following children survive: Mrs. Cora EBER and Mrs. Tressie SMITH, near Akron; Clarence and Frank UTTER, near Athens; Arthur UTTER, Huntington; James UTTER, Warsaw; twenty-one grandchildren; fifty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Final rites will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Akron Church of God. The Rev. Daniel L. SLAYBAUGH, assisted by the Rev. Harold CONRAD, will officiate. Burial will be in the Akron cemetery.

Friends may call at the Moyer-Haupert funeral home in Akron until noon Tuesday at which time the body will be taken to the church to lie in state for an hour prior to the services.
