His funeral was held in the Aliceville Methodist church with interment in Quisling cemetery.
Death was due to old age, he being 83 y 11 m 6 day of age He was born March 22, 1830 in Dayton, Ohio whence he moved with his parents to Indiana, thence to Iowa then to Easton, MO where he married Phoebe Elizabeth Kerns. They came to Kansas in 1859 and homesteaded the place where he lived for 55 years and on which he died. He secured title to the land from the federal government and it stood in his name all those years.
In the days when Bussets settled here Kansas was still a territory, and those were troublesome times. Indians were still numerous and the border was was raging to be succeeded by the great civil strife which caused so much grief over the land.
Busset leaves a wife and 7 children. Four children preceded him, two in infancy and two in the prime of life. the latter being Lillie Rennolds and Rosanna Busset. Living are William T. and James G Busset and Druzilla Huffine of Kellyville, OK; Lina Cook of Alfalfa, TX; E.A. Busset of Hood River, OR,; Clara Brown of Bristow, OK.; and Amanuel M Busset of Aliceville.
He leaves a sister Sarah Price of Pueblo, CO
He was a member of the Dunkard Brethern Church.
